Chlamydophila pneumoniae, an obligate intracellular pathogen, is a causal agent of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and is categorized as an atypical cause of pneumonia. The clinical symptoms of C. pneumoniae infection are nonspecific and do not differ significantly from those caused by other atypical organisms, such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae and respiratory viruses
